Who we are
Annan Barber and Hairdresser ("we", "us") is a barber and hair salon at Shop 5a, Booval Fair Shopping Centre, Cnr Brisbane and South Station Rds, Booval QLD 4304. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information through this website, our online booking system and in the studio. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Booking details: your name, phone number, optional email address, the service and chair you choose, your appointment date and time, and anything you add in the notes field (for example hair type, colour history or allergies).
- Loyalty card details: the loyalty card is a physical card kept by you. We do not keep a digital record of your stamps.
- In the studio: information you tell us during a consultation, such as allergies, sensitivities or colour history, so we can provide the service safely.
- Technical information: our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver and secure the site.
How we use it
- To take, confirm, change or cancel your booking and contact you about it.
- To provide services safely, for example checking allergies before colour or treatments.
- To run the loyalty program and answer your questions.
- To keep the website and booking system secure and working.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing messages unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
We only share personal information with service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed:
- Cloudflare hosts this website and stores online booking records.
- Google provides the embedded map (only if you allow it), our Google Business Profile and the fonts used on this site.
- Pexels serves some images and video clips shown on the site.
- A booking notification service, if we use one, to alert staff to new bookings.
Some of these providers may store data outside Australia. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The site stores a small setting in your browser to remember your cookie choice. If you choose Accept all, we load Google Maps, which may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. If you choose Essential only, maps stay off until you click Show the map. You can change your choice any time with the link in the footer.
Storage and security
Booking records are stored securely by our hosting provider and only staff can view them. We keep booking records for as long as we need them to manage appointments and meet legal obligations, then delete them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by calling 0450 871 619 or asking in the studio. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
